LYD
HOW IT WORKS

The right place. At the right time.

Sound changes with the crowd, the music and the hour. Use other people’s experiences to plan your own.

From your first search to a better visit

01 · Find your place

Search by name, city or category. Choose a restaurant, workplace or function and event venue.

02 · Check the timing

See when reviewers visited and why. A quiet lunch tells you little about a busy Saturday night.

03 · Share your experience

Describe conversation, comfort and balance. Add the date and time so other people can put your review in context.

How to read LYDScore

The community score is displayed on a scale up to 10 and uses four equally weighted questions, adapted to the place type. Loudness appears separately as perceived intensity, not a decibel reading.

Experience

Did the sound suit your visit?

Function

Could you talk, focus or follow the performance?

Comfort

Was the sound comfortable throughout your stay?

Balance

Did voices, music and the room work together?

Check the review count, too.

A score based on few reviews offers limited evidence. Look at dates, read the comments and compare visits like yours. Missing data means we do not yet know enough; it does not mean a place is quiet.

Three different kinds of information

Community score

Guests’ assessment of quality. Buying a subscription does not change it.

Perceived sound level

Guests describe the intensity from calm to intense. It cannot be converted into decibels.

Measured sound environment

Instrument readings from a documented period. Available only where measurement has taken place.

Questions about the score

Can a concert receive a high score?

Yes. Loud sound can suit the occasion. Reviewers consider clarity, balance and listening comfort.

Is a heatmap a guarantee?

No. It shows available observations or measurements. Check the source, period and any gaps.
